The gallery has been updated to the latest version of ZenPhoto (version 1.1.5). The update went without a hitch and it appears that the update script has been improved. This new version is definitely more stable than past versions though I have not had a chance to mess around with it that much, which I will start doing eventually as I have a huge amount of photography I have released on DeviantART but have not yet uploaded into the Gallery.

On a sidenote, though I have created a prototype of the Powervortex.4 page design, practicality issues that recently arose during development has required me to return to the proverbial drawing board. However, I have settled on planning to create a theme series that serve as a sequel to the Haiku series, refreshing but not too radical.

I have just upgraded the blog to Wordpress 2.5. This new version has a vastly improved WP-Admin. I really like the new interface. It is very pleasing to the eye and more user friendly than that of previous versions. Upgrade went without a hitch and I was able to get pretty much all the plugins re-activated smoothly (except ZenPhotoPress which is not appearing on the editor).

In any event, I really like the new features in the writing post page, especially the box that is created for tags. I have been trying to clean up the tags on this blog and this new tool makes it much easier.

Anyway, now I need to update ZenPhoto and I’ll get around to that eventually. =D

I got to say, the launch of the new Zune lineup came with a lot more to be impressed about. Along with the Zune 80, 4 and 8 came a visually-stunning, redesigned Zune.net website, the Zune Social, and the new Zune software. Microsoft seriously put the visual appeal factor in all of these. I am especially impressed with the smoothness and the visual effects of the Zune software. It has the functionality of iTunes with more flashy animations but is far less of a resource hog.

Equally amazing is the 2.2 firmware upgrade for the Zune 30. The new firmware is undoubtedly more animated but also runs a lot smoother than the 1.x firmware which tended to lag very frequently. However, there is one mystery I have yet to figure out. Apparently there are preview images for videos but somehow, they are not appearing. This may be resolved through the desktop software but I will need to eventually get a new comp first.

Screenshots to follow…eventually.

I guess it worked. Apparently I did not have to upgrade my database at all, probably because I was going from 2.3 to 2.3.1. Anyway, please report any bugs. I’ll look myself. Other than that, we’re back in business.

Aaand Zune.net is currently “undergoing maintenance.” I guess the launch of 2.0’s en proceso at the moment. Guess I will have to wait until “tomorrow” to see all the new stuff.

Alright, I’m finally updating Wordpress to 2.3.1. Hopefully all goes well.

Other than that, Zune 2.0 comes out tomorrow…uh…today (its 12:03 PST). I can’t wait for the upgrade.

See you (hopefully) after the break.

That is the question.

Heh, I just realized as I wrote that [^], how far I actually can go with my cheesy reference to Hamlet’s famous “to be, or not to be” soliloquy.

Well, apparently there’s a new feature in WordPress 2.3 that notifies you of new WordPress versions as well. I logged in today to write a post about new power supply woes (please see next post) and such and noticed this:

221

Apparently WP 2.3.1’s out and it has another battery of new features/fixes/whatever that warrants the WP Admin control panel to bug me about it on every freaking page.

In any case, I will see what’s new with this release. However, due to other priorities and the fact that my PC is still incapacitated, I will not get the chance to mess with anything with the word “upgrade” in it for several weeks.
