Dessicated world built on
past wrongs and ordeals
await the healing.
Well, I’m back after another long hiatus from blogging due to a myriad of priorities. Now for a few updates.
Powervortex.4 is still in development. A screenshot will be posted very soon. I am still working on the basic HTML components. Again, the new design is virtually devoid of tables and is a purely CSS-based design. The CSS-based design not only increases flexibility but also makes addition of AJAX components, such as K2 for the blog, much easier.
This blog and the gallery are in need of update. The yellow bar at the top of the WP-Admin panel is yelling “please update now” and the WP feed tells me that there are two subsequent releases of WP 2.3 since I last updated. Other than that, ZenPhoto 1.1.4 has been released.
In any event, the last of the Haiku.seasonals for the main site has been released. This is Haiku.renewal, the spring theme.
That’s all for now.

brillante, insignificante
una sola flor
en la oscuridad misterioso
pradera de la noche.Estrella del mar
la guía lejana
brillando con esfuerzo
sobre las ondas
por la neblina
alivio del marinero
el rayo de la baliza.
Estrella del sueño
el resplandor eterno
de esperanza, de amor
de inspiración
de la corazón, siempre
adelante en algún lugar allá
iluminando mi destino.

Glittering river of life
stretching on forever more
concrete, asphalt veins that cross
lacquered plains and mountainsides.
Single traveler on the way
mingling with hundreds more
silent family saturate
with the roar of wheel and ground
traveling together, heading towards
the distant city lights ahead.

Esa es mi primero poema en español. He estudiado el español para cuatro años y me gusta este idioma mucho porque lo es muy bonito.
De Tuyo
Estrella de mi cielo, inspiración,
¿pero brilles tú ahora para mí?
He seguido tu luz, viajando a ti,
porque de mi vida, eres mi razón.
La voz de tu corazón, tu canción,
¿estás cantando ahora para mí?
Tus palabras que escucho hoy aquí
me inspiran, ir a mi destinación.

A thousand lights fly by
like the countless thoughts
blurring the windshield glass.
Midnight drive
to escape the grip
to escape the pain
of yesterday.
So far away from your smile
that warms my heart
in the gray rain
the frigid tears of the sky
that now are my only friends.
Ten-thousand stars
memories in the sleepless sky
above a bitter oblivious world
memories of yesterday’s happiness
fleeting temporal warmth of heart
memories of you.

Give me a reason to believe
a reason to believe in me
beyond a world of broken hearts
so you and I may never part.
Give me a life to live and lead
open my eyes and help me see
the good, the beautiful, the pure
the brighter side of this world.
Give me a way to make this last
when so many thoughts are blurring past.
Hopes and wishes torn with pain,
help me mend them whole again.
Tell me, will you be the one
who will be there even when hope is gone?
Are you my reason to be,
my reason to live and believe?

I fell from my place in the sky
from my place in the heavens high.
Without my wings I fall to
the earth and away from you.
Within the earth’s shadows black,
to the heavens I look back
at the glow of ten-thousand stars
to the light of where you are.
Flightless now without you
I proceed on this cold earth to
begin my journey to places far
following you, the brightest star.
Cities to cities far away,
nowhere do I stop to stay.
But nowhere am I to find
a road that leads back to the sky.
Yet I press on through the night
even if you may fade from sight.
I’ll find my way back to where you are
as I journey on beneath the stars.

Autumnal lament for many days gone by as life is far too short.
Although it is not officially autumn yet, I have applied the Haiku.Autumnal theme on the main site. This is partly due to that “summer” is symbolically over for me, however, more so that I am about to make a series of improvements to the Haiku theme series, in essence, working on a refresh of the series, Haiku 1.1.0. As of now, the Haiku.Press theme is the most up to date flavor of the theme. For the others, I will need to edit the colors, especially in the Smarty Paginate areas, as well as clean up the code and the files.
~DC
p.s., I wrote the Haiku poem as I was writing this post. Critique would be appreciated.

Let’s go on a journey far from home,
together we travel, not alone.
Across the ocean far away
to reach paradise someday.
I want to be somewhere far.
I want to reach and touch the stars
as we sail into sapphire seas
on a silver ship of dreams.
Fireworks in the heavens gray
fly ahead to light the way.
As the day turns into night,
the heavens again alight.
Another night, another day,
will again pass just the same.
But somewhere out there, somewhere ahead,
a new day will rise instead.
And whatever our destiny, our fate,
life will be truly worth the wait.

Midnight run
Towards the steel glow
of concrete walls
weary but tirelessly waiting
for eventual departure.
City lights
blur past like shooting stars
in orange, white, yellow
bidding bittersweet farewell
to yesterday.
Manmade day
soon relinquishes
to a genuine night
to the lonely roads ahead
to a traveler’s world.
