Apparently I overestimated the time needed to complete the Oxygen theme for WinRAR. I have already completed adding nearly all of the icons to the theme. Here is what it looks like as of now:

191

The RAR file icons look like this:

194

Now, I just need to do some minor tweaking and then make sure everything is well. This means that you can be looking at the first release in the next few days. So stay tuned.

p.s. this also means that I will create yet another category: Customization.

Autumnal lament for many days gone by as life is far too short.

Although it is not officially autumn yet, I have applied the Haiku.Autumnal theme on the main site. This is partly due to that “summer” is symbolically over for me, however, more so that I am about to make a series of improvements to the Haiku theme series, in essence, working on a refresh of the series, Haiku 1.1.0. As of now, the Haiku.Press theme is the most up to date flavor of the theme. For the others, I will need to edit the colors, especially in the Smarty Paginate areas, as well as clean up the code and the files.

p.s., I wrote the Haiku poem as I was writing this post. Critique would be appreciated. ;)

As a follow-up to my previous post: ҉, I found that the reverse text hack I used in that post somehow affects Google as well:

185

As you can see, the reverse text hack affected the text outside the excerpt on the Google search result.

I also found that the ҉ hack is most effective when you are viewing with Mozilla Firefox. When I viewed my ҉ post in Internet Explorer, some of the text that was reversed in FF was displayed normally. [As a sidenote, ҉ is the symbol that is occasionally seen preceding a reverse text string. I am unsure of when or why it appears. Somebody told me that the ҉ symbol means something but he did not know what it meant.]

For quite a while, I have been amazed by the beauty of the icons and artwork of the Oxygen Project. Although I know that it is not complete, I am quite dismayed that there is not yet an effort to port Oxygen to Windows. Thus I am going to take initiative and begin to port Oxygen to Windows. While my system resource hacking skills are still rudimentary, I will begin by creating a Oxygen icon theme for the archiver program WinRAR. I have so far finished the icons on the toolbar:

188

I will now need to find out how to convert PNG image files into Windows icon files in order to complete the theme.

After this theme, I plan to modify simpler programs first such as Notepad before diving into modding the more crucial resource files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
